Niche Inspector: Is it too niche to survive?

With the buzz surrounding the launch of Niche Inspector,
it's no wonder that people are asking questions, many
unsure of how it suits their needs. But many of these
questions miss the point about what Niche Inspector is,
and seem to expect it to decide how they should make
money online, and build websites for them. To understand
Niche Inspector, you need to understand how you feel about
working online, your choices of different ways to make
money, how to assess if it's really what you want, and what
you need to do once you've got it. This article describes
the special phase of niche marketing that Niche Inspector
addresses, and assesses how well it meets its aims.

Most of the questions and criticisms that I see, appear to
be from people who don't know about working for yourself,
without a boss to guide you. Before you even begin to look
for ways of making money online, you must understand how
you feel about work, what rewards you expect, and how much
work you expect to do to meet your goals. Every town has
business bureaus or chambers of commerce to help you with
simple business planning -- don't expect it from a software
author. When you know how you feel about business, you are
ready to look for ways to meet your business objectives.

There are thousands of ways to build online businesses and
hundreds of approaches to online marketing. Do not decide
upon online marketing without studying the alternatives –
learn the principles of niche versus volume, and choose
what you want to do. If you don't, you'll get sidetracked,
and you'll end up with a confused mess of a business. You
need to spend plenty of time on this extremely important
learning process. When you know why and how you want online
marketing success, you're ready to assess tools to help you.

Niche Inspector provides a fast search and filter solution,
quickly producing potential profit niches, whilst suggesting
that the quick way to revenue is through Google AdSense.
Your earlier research will have told you how AdSense works
and whether it is right for you, and should also have
alerted you to other revenue opportunities that will help
you exploit the niches that you uncover. If you do not
understand, or want to be involved with, niche marketing,
then Niche Inspector will not help you. You can use it as
many times as you like to build a database of potential
niches, but it will not help you exploit those niches.

Niche Inspector will have provided you with one or more
potentially profitable niches for your website theme,
together with a list of sub-topics for the content of
your pages, but it will not help you build, or promote
a website. This is why it is so important that you spent
time researching and learning the stages of developing a
web business before you started looking at the tools to
do the job. Think of the niches and topic lists as the
menus and recipes of your business banquet. You must
choose whether to learn to cook up a website yourself
and learn how to present it properly, or hire website
developers and promotion specialists as your chefs and
waiters.

When you understand what you want from a business, and
you've made an informed choice of niche marketing, then
you can benefit from a fast niche research tool as a
forerunner to building or commissioning websites. If you
o not understand that keyword research is only part of
the early planning stages of building a website, then
Niche Inspector, or indeed any other keyword research
tool, is unlikely to help you. Having said that, the
author does explain her methods completely, and shows
you how to emulate her model in a spreadsheet, without
having to buy the program. You can use this as a free
learning tool to assess the strengths of the program,
and to increase your understanding of the processes
needed for successful niche marketing. Such an exercise
will not be wasted, as you will prove my observation that
finding good keywords is just part of the web business
planning process -- an important part that Niche Inspector
does quickly and competently.
