Luck has very little to do with getting your website a top <br />
ten search engine ranking. However, planning, research, and <br />
the proper action can make it happen.<br />
<br />
One of the most important things to focus on that makes it <br />
much easier to get a new website ranked within the first ten <br />
search engine results is to make sure that the domain name <br />
is keyword rich. This article will show you how to do that.<br />
<br />
The first thing you will want to do is pick the niche around <br />
which you will build your website. It doesn't matter what <br />
field your website will focus on because this method will <br />
work with any niche you can imagine.<br />
<br />
However, if this is your first website, you may want to focus <br />
on an area that you know about or would like to learn about <br />
because you will be investing quite a bit of your time and <br />
energy developing content for your new site.<br />
<br />
After you have picked your niche, the next thing to do is use <br />
a keyword tool to find a website name that gets a substantial <br />
number of searches every month. Although there are a number <br />
of excellent keyword tools that cost a hundred dollars or <br />
more, there are also some great free tools available on the <br />
Internet.<br />
<br />
One of the best free tools is the Google AdWords Keyword Tool. <br />
Just do a search for "Google keyword tool" and this tool will <br />
probably come up as the first result. When you use this tool, <br />
if you keep the setting at the default "Broad Match Type" <br />
you should find a lot of potential domain names. You may <br />
want to focus on keywords that have around 1,600 to 6,000 <br />
results in the "Local Search Volume" column.<br />
<br />
Fewer than 1,600 and you will not get enough traffic to make <br />
it worth your while. If you find substantially more than <br />
6,000 there might be too much competition.<br />
<br />
As an example, let's take a look at the results for a keyword <br />
search for "bass fishing". At the time this article was <br />
written the term "trophy bass fishing" (without quotes) <br />
had a Local Search Volume of 4,400, so it's a potential <br />
candidate.<br />
<br />
Go to one of the popular sites that where you can buy a <br />
domain name. See if trophybassfishing.com is available. <br />
You'll find it's already taken. But I do see that both <br />
trophybassfishing.org and trophybassfishing.net are still <br />
up for grabs. Although a dot com URL would be my first <br />
choice, either of these would be good choices as well.<br />
<br />
Don't be tempted to buy a hyphenated domain name. In other <br />
words, do not buy trophy-bass-fishing.com. Also keep the <br />
domain name pure and simple. Don't add any additional <br />
words to the keyword.<br />
<br />
If either the dot com, dot net, or dot org domain names <br />
are not available then continue your search. It may take <br />
you a little time to find one, but there are plenty of <br />
good URLs still available.<br />
<br />
Use this little trick and you will put yourself ahead of <br />
ninety percent of the people who build websites.<br />
<br />

backlinks to it. Backlinks will get you ranked higher in <br />
