Any product to be sold a marketing technique is vital and
a marketing technique involves creating and distributing
content that is relevant to the product and valuable to
the customer. This is the only way to attract and engage
the target audience and the sole objective of the marketing
technique is driving the profitability upwards.

Essentially marketing is communicating with the customers
and there are various forms of it. One of them is content
marketing, it is also known by various other names like
custom publishing, branded content, corporate journalism etc.
Content marketing basically speaking is communicating with
customers without actually selling; it is non-interruptive
style of marketing. Here you do not pitch your products or
services; instead you deliver important information to make
your buyer more aware, more intelligent. When business
people deliver such consistent and valuable information
to the customer they are in-turn rewarded with loyalty and
sales and that is the essence of such a strategy. Major
companies use content marketing to build up their image
and branding, so do one-person shops and small businesses.
Traditional marketing techniques are becoming less effective
day by day as consumers have numerous options. They skip TV
ads by changing channels or shunning it altogether by
watching it on the DVR, they skip magazine advertising
and have become adept at surfing online so much so that
they easily bypass the banners and other ad buttons. Smart
marketers are trying to find a better way out. You would
have come across a lot of stuff that companies keep sending
you in the name of information but most of the times it is
just span -- not quite relevant and valuable to you but
instead involves more of selling tactics. On the other hand
when you get good content you stop and read the material,
think about it and most importantly it makes you behave
differently. Research by popular public affairs consultancy
shows that 80 percent of decision makers preferred receiving
articles instead of advertisement and 60 percent claimed that
content from the company helped them make better decisions
on product purchase.

It is the dream of every company / seller for their customer
to look forward to their receiving their marketing. And it
would be a dream come true for them if the consumer spent
time reading it and registering the company and product in
their mind. All this is possible by providing good content
to the customers. Market the right way and you can change
your business for the better, and in a way which also
benefits customers.
