The Art of Pre-Selling - Affiliate Marketing

Most Affiliate Marketers are wasting their time. They think
they're saving themselves time by simply direct linking to
the Merchants Sales page.

What a waste...

If you're not taking the time to create SOME sort of landing
page in which you can pre-sell your visitors, you're missing
a HUGE amount of sales or opt-in leads.

Pre-selling is, by far, the most important part of Affiliate
Marketing. Well, after you've done your research, of course.
Your visitor clicks on your link because your sales message
has struck some sort of interest. And if your sales message
was done correctly - your pre-selling is the gateway to
sales success!

Your landing page needs to be complete with either a review,
comparison, squeeze page or a nice, effective, Sales letter
in order to get the best "bang for your buck", even if you
didn't spend a penny on the campaign. Every minute your
spend working should be counted as money. Like they say -
time is money.

Taking your time to study the Niche you're promoting is far
too important to skip. It's actually the most foolish
mistake most Affiliate newbies make. Without this information
you're losing value for Keyword Research AND your pre-selling
efforts.

Pre selling is giving the visitor or potential customer more
information based on the specific product and/or even a more
unbiased opinion.

Think Benefits when pre-selling. If you've done the research
and looked on forums or used other methods, you should realize
what people need that specific product for. What problems is
it going to solve? How will it benefit this person? Solutions
to problems is key here.

Do NOT just go and copy the Features and Benefits from the
Merchants Sales page. This is such a newbie mistake and will
NOT do you any good. In fact, it will more than likely upset
the customer since they're simply re-reading what you have
already put in your sales page. Be creative and DO NOT
pre-sell on FEATURES. Think SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEMS: BENEFITS.

I truly believe that a good Marketer can pre-sell anything,
just like a good salesman can sell anything. You have to get
a good understanding of why people buy, why people react the
way they do and what it takes to get that person to react,
then buy.

A great book that I would HIGHLY recommend is Ca$hvertising.
This book really takes you through the psychology of sales
and marketing and allows you to get a better understanding
of what you need to do to get people to do what you want
them to do. ;)

CTA's (Calls To Action) are the most important items you
need to become an expert on to get more clicks, but getting
those clicks might be useless if you haven't pre-sold the
potential buyer. What happens if the merchant's sales page
is terrible?

Just remember that last line when you're creating your
content. Don't over-sell and don't over-hype. Be honest
(as honest as you can be!) and give them the information
they need in order to make their decision and, hopefully,
purchase the product that you're pushing.
