5 Great Tips for Online Marketing - by Pierre Labuschagne

We all know that online marketing is a hard game to play. You
read so many articles each day about how you should market
online and what you should do but so many times you just read
but never implement because it's just a overload of information.

Online marketing is about building back links and being as
engaging with the potential customer as possible. Besides for
the following 5 great tips also always remember the following
2 things when you market online:

1) Apply the SO WHAT rule: Always ask yourself so what? For
example:
My name is Pierre Labuschagne (So What???)
I do internet marketing and also web design for entrepreneurs
and small businesses (So What????)
I have more than 4 years of experience and make a living full
time doing online marketing (So What???)
I can help you with your social media marketing and expanding
your online presence on the internet (So What????)
If I help you then you will generate more leads (So What???)
More leads will bring in more sales (So what???)
You will generate a larger revenue and be more profitable
Now all you do is take out all the (So What's) and connect
the lines with words so it all flows into one paragraph and
voila... instant sales letter!

2) Always include your USP (Unique Selling Proposition)
You should include your USP in all the marketing that you do.
Think about it nice and hard before you decide on what your
USP should be. Think about what makes your business unique
to any of the competitors. Where lies your edge over them?
Now let's get down to business. Here are my 5 GREAT tips for
where to do your online marketing:
1) Sitemap
Yes I know. You did expect that little word to show up on this
list did you? Sitemap generation and submission is key to any
online marketing strategy. This is how search engines pick you
up and find out what your site is about. You should submit
your sitemap weekly at the very least. I submit mine after
every blog post or whenever I change something on my site.
There are many programs and websites that can help with this.
One such is Attracta. You have to submit your sitemap to at
least Google, Yahoo, Bing and Ask.com once a week.
2) Directory Submission
Directory submission is key towards building back links to
your site. But as I advise all my customers. Never try to
automate this step. Semi-automatic submission is as close to
automation as what you should come to. There are thousands of
websites that say they can submit your site to millions of
other sites. Or they can build millions of back links. The
fact of the matter is they aren't lying but if you use that
then Google will pick up that you have millions of back links
to your site which are exactly the same as say 100000 other
sites and these back links have no relevance. Then the search
engines will punish you and you could even get blacklisted.

3) Blogging
Ladies and gentleman let's face it... Blogging is key to any
online strategy. It is where you create a world of content and
information. And Google loves content and information! Just
like any other search engine. It is key to try and blog daily
about your products, services or great tips. Then after you
publish your blog you have to PING your blog and then also do
some blog commenting. This helps to improve your visibility on
the internet.

4) Article Marketing
This what you are reading right now is a form of article
marketing. Why is this important? Well easy. You write a
article. You then submit your article to let's say 15 article
submission sites and it gets read on each site 4 times. Now
you 60 people who didn't know about you yesterday now knows
about you and your products or services.

5) Online Classifieds
OH YES! The most very old and ugly yet still effective form
of online marketing is the online classifieds. Even though it
is not as effective as it used to be, it is still a wonder
machine where you could catch some nice exposure. The problem
is that the free online classifieds sites are heavily
populated with every Tom, Dick and Harry posting ads for
their affiliate products. So the key here is to keep hammering
those sites with your ads. Try to post at least 5 adverts a
day. Try to find different angles and categories you can use.
